Cebu’s varying terrain, deep blue waters, and vast land makes it a great place for those seeking adventure. If you’re into activities that get your heart racing, then it’s definitely the place to be – here’s a Cebu checklist for adventure junkies:
Cebu’s waters are famous for being one of the most diverse in the country. From wrecks to underwater caves, enthusiasts will never run out of new discoveries. But, if you’re up for a one-of-a-kind experience, the surrounding waters of Malapascua Island should be on your bucket list.
Divers flock to the northernmost tip of Cebu to witness the thresher sharks, which are regularly found in an underwater cleaning station called Monah Shoal.

Canyoneering is an extreme activity wherein participants are required to traverse between steep canyons and jump from high points into rivers and other natural waters.
In Cebu, the adventure begins in the lush jungles of Alegria where participants are guided towards the Gatorade-blue waters of Kawasan Falls.

The best place to go spelunking is in Igotan Cave in Talisay, about 30 minutes away from the city. Here you’ll see million-year-old stalactites and stalagmites, amazing rock formations, and even a waterfall with crystal clear waters

If you want to try out this extreme sport without having to leave the country, then a trip to Bantayan Island is your best bet. Skydive Greater Cebu offers you a tandem skydive experience guided by United States Parachute Association (USPA)-certified instructors.
Before taking the leap, you will be given the basic fundamentals of skydiving, which includes free falling, piloting the canopy, and landing.
The south side of Cebu is home to some of the country’s most majestic waterfalls, all of which are well worth the visit. There’s the multi-tiered Aguinid Falls, the powerful 100-feet-high Inambakan Falls, and more.

Sky walking is another popular extreme activity in Cebu, and you don’t even have to travel far to experience it. For this, all you need to do is visit the Crown Regency Cebu, which invites thrill-seekers to walk atop the translucent floor of their 415-feet building while tied to a safety harness.
This dangerous sport is best experienced in the rock climbing mecca of Barangay Cantabaco in Toledo City. The picturesque countryside has beautiful limestone cliffs and crags perfect for climbing. First-timers can even rent equipment from the expert local guides.

While zip lining might not sound as extreme as the other activities on the list, Cebu offers some that are considerably heart racing. One of the more popular ones is located in Silot Bay, Poblacion, and is 800-meters long.
If scaling mountains and conquering peaks is your thing, then Cebu is a great place to begin. While the mountains aren’t as tall or challenging as those in other parts of the country, the ones in Cebu are equally as breathtaking.
The best part is, some of the climbs will only take you about half a day, which means you can climb more! If you’re up for a challenge, try out Osmena Peak, which at 1,013 meters, is the highest in Cebu.
Another can’t-miss for adventure junkies is freediving in the turquoise waters of Moalboal. The area is teeming with fascinating marine life and is a great experience altogether (if you can hold your breath long enough). If your timing is right, you can even witness the infamous Sardine Run.
Triple threat? More like triple treat.
