Cebu’s waters are famous for being one of the most diverse in the country. From wrecks to underwater caves, enthusiasts will never run out of new discoveries. But, if you’re up for a one-of-a-kind experience, the surrounding waters of Malapascua Island should be on your bucket list. Divers flock to the northernmost tip of Cebu to witness the thresher sharks, which are regularly found in an underwater cleaning station called Monah Shoal.

2. Canyoneering in Alegria

Canyoneering is an extreme activity wherein participants are required to traverse between steep canyons and jump from high points into rivers and other natural waters. In Cebu, the adventure begins in the lush jungles of Alegria where participants are guided towards the Gatorade-blue waters of Kawasan Falls. If you want to try out this extreme sport without having to leave the country, then a trip to Bantayan Island is your best bet. Before taking the leap, you will be given the basic fundamentals of skydiving, which includes free falling, piloting the canopy, and landing.

5. Chasing waterfalls in the south of Cebu

Aguinid Falls

The south side of Cebu is home to some of the country’s most majestic waterfalls, all of which are well worth the visit. There’s the multi-tiered Aguinid Falls, the powerful 100-feet-high Inambakan Falls, and more.

6. Sky walking in the city

Crown Regency Cebu Sky Walk

Sky walking is another popular extreme activity in Cebu, and you don’t even have to travel far to experience it. For this, all you need to do is visit the Crown Regency Cebu, which invites thrill-seekers to walk atop the translucent floor of their 415-feet building while tied to a safety harness.

7. Rock climbing in Toledo

9. Trekking up the highest peaks

Climb at Osmena Peak

If scaling mountains and conquering peaks is your thing, then Cebu is a great place to begin. While the mountains aren’t as tall or challenging as those in other parts of the country, the ones in Cebu are equally as breathtaking. The best part is, some of the climbs will only take you about half a day, which means you can climb more! If you’re up for a challenge, try out Osmena Peak, which at 1,013 meters, is the highest in Cebu.

10. Freediving in Moalboal
