Where to stay during the Sinulog festival

It’s only the start of the year, but already there are quite a few festivals ongoing in different parts of the country. If you’ve ever needed an excuse to go somewhere new, there’s more than a few festivals you can go to.

One of the bigger festivals ongoing right now is Cebu’s Sinulog Festival. Set to climax a couple of weeks from now, the Queen City of the South’s signature celebration kicked off Thursday, January 5, and will culminate in a grand parade on the 15th of January.

If you’ve never been to the Sinulog Festival and you’re thinking of doing it now, we’ve got five hotel recommendations you can check out so you’ve got a great place to take a break in if you decide to duck out from any of the Sinulog festivities.

It’s a stone’s throw away from establishments like Ayala Center Cebu, Robinson’s Mall, and the city’s nightlife center along Mango Avenue. It’s also just a short walk away from the route of the Sinulog Grand Parade, so you can be sure to get a front row seat to all the festivities. Room rates start at PHP 1,755 per night, but if you’re willing to pay a little more at PHP 1,962, you get a free breakfast included!

Sarrosa International Hotel and Residential Suites

Only 15 minutes away from the Cebu-Mactan International Airport, the Sarrosa International Hotel and Residential Suites is a good choice if you’re the type who like having their accommodations as close to the airport as possible. Sarrosa International Hotel and Residential Suites, you’ve got 181 elegantly furnished rooms to choose from, and it’s a reasonable distance away from the different venues hosting most of the Sinulog festivities. Room rates start at PHP 2,059 per night, but if you book a room at PHP 3,043, you also get a free breakfast.

Cebu Parklane International Hotel

If you’re a fan of fireworks, you may want to consider staying at the Cebu Parklane International Hotel. It’s just a short distance away from SM City Cebu, which will be holding a Sinulog Fireworks Competition on the 14th and a pyromusical show on the 15th.
