Underrated Rooftop Bars in Manila You Should Check Out

If you’re tired of the typical date place and are looking to spice things up, then we’ve got just the list for you. Here’s a list of underrated rooftop bars in Manila perfect for a romantic night out.

1. Firefly Roofdeck Bar

Ground level, the Makati Avenue and Poblacion area is busy with flashing neon lights and colorful crowds. On top, the scene is completely different. Located on the 32nd floor of City Garden Hotel, Firefly Roofdeck Bar is a cozy respite in the middle of city. Here, you can enjoy cocktails straight off the tap, ice cold beer, and one of the best vantage points for the sunset.

  • Address: Roofdeck, City Garden Hotel, Makati, 1210, Makati, Metro Manila
  • Contact Number: (02) 755 7888
  • Hours: 6pm-3am

2. Straight Up

Straight Up is Seda Hotel BGC’s roof deck bar that offers one of the most coveted views of the upscale area. The bar boasts panoramic views — from the restaurants and shops in the nearby commercial areas all the way to the sparkling waters of the bay. To top off the experience, Straight Up serves a wine buffet from 4pm-8pm daily.

  • Address: 30th Street corner 11th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City
  • Contact Number: (02) 945 8888,
  • Hours: 4pm-1am

3. The Roofdeck Bistro

The Roofdeck Bistro is an unassuming bar atop a red brick building along a residential area. It’s easy to miss but that’s the best part about it. This hidden gem is best for casual dates or a nightcap with friends. They serve refreshing cocktails, delicious bar chow and comfort food such as mini tacos, and sizzling deep-fried tuna. Never mind the absence of sweeping views, the chill al fresco beach vibe is enough to keep you coming back.

  • Address: Times Square Bldg, Examiner, Lungsod Quezon
  • Contact Number: +63 9158186018
  • Hours: 5pm-2am

4. The Penthouse 8747

You don’t realize how peaceful the central business district can be until you wait some hours past sundown, when most cars and salarymen disappear for the day. When this time comes, it’s always best to head over to the top of the towering Lepanto Building.

By day, it’s a regular office building blending in with the rest, at night it comes alive with The Penthouse 8747. The rooftop turns into a sleek lounge with interiors inspired by the Great Gatsby era. While taking in the view, guests can feast on high quality steaks, and sip some unique concoctions.

  • Address: 1209, 8747 Paseo de Roxas, Makati
  • Contact Number: +63 917 801 0655
  • Hours: 4pm-3am

5. Verona Roofdeck Bar

Privato Hotel’s Verona Bar is unlike your typical bar. Its interiors are minimal and lights are kept dim, allowing the unobstructed views of the city to take center stage. In addition, the bar serves affordable signature cocktails and mouthwatering bar chow. Must orders include their signature Mangorita (lambanog mixed with margarita), and the Chicken Sate.

  • Address: 23/F Privato Hotel, 706 Shaw Blvd Ext, Pasig
  • Contact Number: (02) 717 5888
  • Hours: 6pm-1am

6. Antidote

When you think you’ve seen it all, I’m Hotel’s concept bar, Antidote, will convince you otherwise. The bar doesn’t just boast a 360 degree view of Metro Manila as far as the eye can see, but it also features eye-catching jellyfish aquariums. Every corner of the bar is dotted with stylish lounge chairs and bathed in a romantic glow perfect for a sweet but casual night out.

  • Address: Roofdeck, I’M Hotel, 7862 Ave, Makati, 1210, Makati
  • Contact Number: 02) 755 7888
