Travelers from all over the world looking to explore Southeast Asia may want to add Sri Lanka to their itineraries. Why? Because the country has claimed the top spot in the leading tourist destinations for Asia.
Sri Lanka recently won the title at the World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia 2017, which was held in Shanghai, China. Aside from being recognized as the most wanted adventure tourism spot, the award also reflected the country’s range of tourism products and services.
For the record, the winners were chosen via online voting. Industry leaders and travel professionals cast the polls. Per The Jakarta Post, Sri Lanka has been evolving as an interesting travel alternative to Thailand as its beaches and wildlife are both stunning and breathtaking.
With regards to marine life, Sri Lanka offers one of the best spots for whale and dolphin watching. The country also a go-to among thrill-seekers with its brilliant surfing and diving activities.
