K-Pop Concerts in Manila: Day6, Winner, iKon, and More!

As 2018 comes to a close, K-pop fans may be wondering if any more of their favorite bands and idols will be making their way to our shores. After all, the past year has already had its share of kick butt K-pop concerts in Manila with Super Junior, Momoland, and Wanna One leading the way.

Good news! From the month of October to November, fans can expect more of Hallyu’s biggest names to come over to the Philippines. Check out this list:

1. Day6’s Youth Tour in Manila (October 6, Kia Theatre)

Day6 debuted in 2015 and has since released two mini albums and two full albums. Their stop in Manila is part of their first ever world tour, “Youth”, which has already taken them around Korea, to Taipei, Bangkok and will extend to Australia, North and South America, Canada, and Europe.

The South Korean rock band consists of Jae (lead vocalist, guitarist, rapper), SungJin (main vocalist, rhythm guitarist), Young K (bassist, vocalist, rapper), WonPil (synthesizer, keyboardist, vocalist), and DoWoon (drummer).

2. MBC Show Champion (October 28, Mall of Asia Arena)

Hang on to your seats, this may be the biggest K-pop event happening this 2018!

On October 28 at the Mall of Asia Arena, get ready to sing-a-long and to dance to your favorite hits by EXO, MXM, Weki Meki, Xeno-T, The Boyz, and Hyungseop and Eunwoong.

“Show Champion” airs on music channel MBC Music every Wednesday in South Korea, and is hosted by radio and TV personality Kim Shinyoung.

3. WINNER (November 10, Mall of Asia Arena)

Formed in 2013 through WIN: Who is Next, WINNER officially debuted in 2014 and has since released one mini album and two full albums. Their latest album came out earlier this year with lead track, “Everyday”.

Last May, WINNER visited Palawan and were checked-in at Lagen Island Resort in El Nido. They were seen enjoying mango shakes and took selfies with a handful of lucky fans.

Yoon, Mino, Hoony, and Jinu have since then been actively promoting their comeback as a four member band after former member Nam Tae-hyun left the group to start his own band, South Club.

4. iKON (November 11, Mall of Asia Arena)

Like WINNER, iKON was formed through the show WIN: Who is Next and debuted in 2015, releasing their first album, “Welcome Back.” In January 2018, they released their second studio album, “Return”.
