The Henry Hotel Manila

If you love the Manila Ocean Park and want to extend that feeling to your accommodations, this 4-star hotel in Manila is a great choice. It’s literally right beside the Ocean Park — you can even see some attractions out your window.

Why here? Hotel H2O has three kinds of rooms that really embodies its ocean inspiration. The Aqua and Aqua Supreme rooms both have life-sized aquariums incorporated into the design. The Acqua Jellies rooms, on the other hand, have jellyfish tanks.

The Henry Hotel Cebu

Even before you enter, this 4-star Cebu hotel is already striking, with what looks like huge globs of paint dripping down its facade. It’s also near to the Parkmall and the Gaisano Country Mall, so you’ve got shopping options nearby if you ever venture out your room.

Why here? Just like its Manila cousin, rooms at The Henry Hotel Cebu are definitely memorable. While the Manila branch deals with nostalgia, The Henry Hotel Cebu features rooms that have an industrial feel, with murals painted by visual artist Mark Luzon.

Luks Lofts Hotel and Residences

This 5-star establishment in Batangas is already memorable even before you get to the rooms. It has a striking beveled facade that is definitely eye-catching, and the lobby interiors are sleek and contemporary.

Why here? A lot of us seek out the pools whenever we check out hotels. There’s no need to worry about that at the Luks Lofts Hotels and Residences as each rooms comes with a private pool and sauna. All you need to do now is luxuriate.

Canvas Boutique Hotel

Right in the heart of Puerto Princesa, this 4-star hotel is only a six-minute walk from the Puerto Princesa International Airport. That’s reason enough to book here, especially if you want a nap immediately after a long flight. But wait until you see the rooms.

Bamboo Hostels and Tours

Less than 30 minutes away from the Puerto Princesa International Airport, Bamboo Hostels and Tours is a great choice if you want a taste of the backpacking experience but don’t want to fully commit to it just yet. While it does have more conventional rooms, its Gazebo Dorm is what you want to try out.

Why here? The Gazebo Dorm is an open-air space you share with other guests. Spend the night old-school Filipino style — sleeping on a mattress covered by a mosquito net. It’s located far away from the main street, so you can be sure of a quiet night’s sleep.

Victoria Court Malate

If you’re in a bind and need a quick escape, any Victoria Court is a good choice. But this line of budget-friendly accommodations have already made a name several years ago for its themed rooms, which draw inspiration from pop culture, among other things.

Why here? If you’re feeling the Thor fantasy, especially since the new movie comes out this October, check out the Asgard Room in Victoria Court Malate. It’s made to look like the throne room in the movie, and it’s all gold. It even features lightning effect and of course, Thor’s hammer.

MNL Beach Hostel Boracay

Less than a kilometer away from D’ Mall Boracay, the MNL Beach Hostel Boracay is perfect both for those on a budget and those who want some distance from the Boracay crowd. Plus, they hold themed nights and yoga up on their roof deck.

Why here? Rooms at this hotel all feature murals, whether it’s the shared dorms or its private rooms. This even extends to their rooftop and billiard halls, so there’s always great artwork for you eyes to look at.
